The Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and its related Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs are well established government programs designed to allow the opportunity for small high-tech businesses to obtain government agency funding to pursue research and development projects. Many of the AZSDBC Service Centers offer workshops that overview these two valuable programs. Attendees of these workshops learn how the programs work, the differences between the two programs, the latest news and changes and how the specific government agencies differ. In addition, information will be provided as to the benefits to the small business, how the three phase programs work and instructions on how to find specific topics of interest. Additionally, some tips are provided as to what the small business should do to prepare to participate in the SBIR/STTR programs.

For more information about SBIR/STTR programs contact your local SBDC office.
