A grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Jobs Initiative is directly funding counseling efforts at the Estrella Mountain Community College Skills Center in Avondale. The Jobs Initiative also funded the existing Scottsdale satellite’s move to a new location hosted by the Greater Scottsdale Chamber of Commerce and the redevelopment of our existing Mesa satellite to a workforce development focus to better reflect its new funding.
Other new locations include a satellite hosted by Glendale Community College at its Veterans Service Center; a satellite hosted at the City of Chandler’s Innovations Incubator; and a satellite hosted by Paradise Valley Community College. The Avondale satellite will be manned by new Business Analyst Jeff Swensen, a successful small business owner with a background in technology and financial analysis. The relocated Scottsdale satellite will be staffed by Business Analyst Rachel Busch, a certified (IEDC) Economic Developer who was formerly with the City of Scottsdale.
