Details: Wednesday October 10, 2012 – Noon – Chandler Innovations Incubator. 145 S 79th Street, Chandler.
Chandler, Arizona, September 20, 2012 (news release)…The new JOBS Act is designed to make it significantly easier for small and emerging growth companies to raise capital by, among other things, removing certain historic securities law restrictions and legalizing “crowdfunding.”
The law firm of Snell & Wilmer and Impact Business Accelerators are partnering with other business development groups to present capital raising strategies for small business in 2013 and beyond, at Innovations Incubator in Chandler. They will provide insight regarding opportunity identification, small business acceleration strategies, and the future of crowdfunding.
Innovations Incubator in Chandler was selected for this presentation because of its early success and growth, recently expanding by another 24,000 square feet. “Innovations is considered a highly successful business incubator that hopes to graduate its first company in the next six months, remarkable given it is only in its 2nd year of operations,” explained Impact Executive Director Donavon Ostrom.
“Innovations is known as a hub for access to industry leaders and information on helping small businesses succeed, and we’re proud to partner in this event,” said City of Chandler Economic Development Director Christine Mackay. “Learning about how to raise capital, especially as new legislation makes it more accessible is critical to any emerging company.”
Small companies from Chandler and all around the east valley are invited to attend the event. Brian Burt, presenting Partner from Snell & Wilmer noted, “Crowdfunding will provide startups and growth companies here in Arizona with an exciting new way to raise capital, and will hopefully help address, at least in part, the capital formation challenges that have confronted local companies for decades.”
